LSDJ-MC2 Revisited: 5 common mistakes, Plus one more

Greetings! It’s been about three years since the last installment, and I thought it was about time to give the topic a little more attention. There are still many of you who are looking to build a LSDJ-MC2 and either lack the skill or otherwise too busy to complete the task, and I have to say this is still an average skill job, not really that complicated. With simple soldering skills, the right parts, and a little determination a LSDJ-MC2 can be yours.

The Challenger

The challenge was set, to back up LSDJ, or die trying! As some of you may know my madness has no limits! And as it was written, in 04' the year of the almighty DMG-01, the valiant challenger will be defeated - the gods have willed it to be so. Anyone else seen Troy yet? Anyway, maybe I should start where all good stories start: at the beginning.

Midines Review

My MIDINES at work

First impressions are everything, and when I first heard that http://www.wayfar.net was coming out with a MIDI device for the Nintendo, I was thoroughly impressed. But, would the MIDINES meet my expectations? In this review I will tell you just that.

Luckily I logged onto http://www.micromusic.net before the first of the auctions started and saw gwem’s post about the wayfar MIDINES. So I was able to see, and bid on, the first of the MIDINES auctions. I was not able to win one the first time around, but soon after I won one the second time around.

LSDJ-MC2 Tutorial

synced up via MIDISome say this is the greatest invention man has ever made, some say it is not, others still contest that it is. Regardless, I now would like all of you to realize this electronic device can be yours. All you need is a few hours and a couple of tools, oh and about $25 USD. Depending if you want to make it fancy or not, it could cost more. But my total costs where about $50 (that's because I spent $30 on a programmer) and there is no reason it should cost you any more, probably less. There are a few skills you might need before you get started. Not to worry though, Soldering is really easy!
